Soon we shall be instituting Bhakti-Shastri examinations and all brahmanas will have to pass. So utilize whatever time you find to make a thorough study of my books.

About This Course
Brahminical TrainingThrough Scripture
This course will not only enhance your scriptural knowledge but also strengthen you in Vaishnava philosophy, enabling you for preaching and service. Srila Prabhupada described this course as an important and essential part of brahminical training for all devotees in ISKCON.
Qualified students will receive the official "Bhakti Shastri" certificate from the ISKCON Board of Examinations - the first degree in ISKCON's formal scriptural certification ladder, followed by Bhakti Vaibhava, Bhaktivedanta, and Bhaktisarvabhauma.

Course Content
Four Sacred Scriptures
Taught across six modules with structured assessments. Students must secure a minimum of 65% in each module to receive the Bhakti Shastri degree.
Modules 1–3
Bhagavad-gita As It Is
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
The supreme Vedic scripture - Krishna's direct teachings to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. The foundation of all Vaishnava philosophy.
Module 4
Nectar of Instruction
Srila Rupa Gosvami (commentary by Srila Prabhupada)
The Upadeshamrita - eleven essential verses on the science of devotional service, practical guidelines for spiritual advancement.

Examinations
Assessment Structure
Closed-book exams
6 module exams - minimum 65% required in each
Sloka recitation tests
6 tests on selected Sanskrit verses from course books
Open-book exams
12 open-book assessments throughout the course
Class attendance
75% minimum attendance in all live sessions
Certificate Issuance
The Bhakti Shastri certificate is issued once a year (January/February) by the ISKCON Board of Examinations to students who successfully complete all modules and meet the attendance requirement.
Before You Apply
Eligibility Requirements

Minimum age: 18 years

Chanting at least 16 rounds daily

Following the four regulative principles

Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory

Prior study of the course books (recommended before enrollment)

A recommendation letter from an ISKCON authority - Spiritual Master, GBC member, Temple President, or co-Temple President - certifying your character, sadhana, and service

Active participation in preaching or service for at least the past 12 months
